How To Decorate Your Outdoor Space

​If you have available outdoor space and you’re thinking about using it for entertaining guests or perhaps creating a cozy area for chilling out, then maybe it’s also time to think about doing a makeover of that area first. • Try using one color. Even if the rest of your house carries all the hues of the rainbow (not advisable BTW), using monochromatic shades for your outdoor area would be an inspired move. It’s classier, more refined, and more refreshing to the senses. Don’t worry about the furniture, because there are plenty of options in one-color palettes to choose from.
  
  
• You will need greenery. Get some plants out there. You’re decorating an outdoor space, after all, so plants won’t be out of place. Some plants in pots would be nice, or you could go the extra mile and maybe build a vertical garden or a trellis for vines to climb on. Green is always easy on the eyes.
  
  
• Pull down those walls. Outdoor spaces should not be enclosed within walls. If your space is big enough to warrant having a divider or two to separate one area from another, then it’s fine. But there shouldn’t be walls if you can help it. That open space is there for you and your guests to enjoy, after all. If you really want to use dividers, try putting a BBQ grill in there, or use a sofa instead.
  
  
• Outdoor cushions are your friends. Your monochromatic, minimalistic furniture can be brightened up by scattering a few cushions here and there. A grey or white sofa, for example, would look amazing with some colorful cushions on it. There are plenty of outdoor cushions made from weather-resistant materials, so take your pick.
  
  
• Decorative lighting is amazing. Some string lights along the walkway or amidst the branches of a tree, or perhaps a few battery-powered lanterns in the garden would be an awesome touch. Your evenings outside will even be more beautiful. Even just a fire pit in the middle of some benches or lounge chairs could work.
